Camera: A Nikon D3000 that my husband cunningly managed to surprise me with this Christmas. I honestly expected a gift certificate, or perhaps some bedding. Good job honey!

I'm not sure. I'm still trying to figure out how to set the shutter speed.
I'm hoping to use this challenge as a way to keep me accountable in taking pictures of my family - myself, one husband, currently one child, two cats, maybe even the chinchillas - my house, my friends... whatever I find to be interesting. I might even dare to dream that it will help my photography improve to the point where I am proud of the pictures I take, and might even consider displaying them on my (somewhat barren) walls. As an addition to this challenge, I plan on teaching myself some photo editing techniques using Photoshop CS5, Camera RAW, and Adobe Bridge. I can't promise that I will be able to edit every photo - hi, I'm a newbie! - but I will make a concerted effort to play around with those tools.
Looking forward to 2011 and seeing how this challenge pans out!
